A HOME FOR A WIDOW AND HER BLIND SON

This week before Thanksgiving Day I am reflecting on why I am thankful to God.

There are many reasons to be thankful. I am thankful that God sent His Son Jesus to save me from my sin and give me eternal life. I am also thankful that God has lead us to help the people of Kenya these last five years. I am thankful God has lead others to join Burning Plow in blessing the people of Kenya in tangible ways.

One example of God leading others to help is a small group of ladies in Texas who are holding a bake sale next Tuesday to pay for a new home for a blind boy and his family. When we shared the need God quickened them to send the money in advance to build a new house with a metal roof before the annual rains arrived. The house is now complete and the family can live securely for many years to come. Building houses is not our main work in Kenya, but when God shows us a need we must share it because that is part of why we are in Kenya.

God has given us so many blessings that we can not contain them. Burning Plow Ministries needs regular monthly support in addition to special gifts for projects like this one. You can make a difference!

May God bless you for your thankful heart!

Blessings,

WE JUST WANT TO SHARE SOME PICTURES OF BEAUTIFUL KENYA

The entire Burning Plow Team left for Western Kenya on April 30th! The car was packed full of equipment, so much so, two of our team had to take public transpiration to the first town.

We are still working on our report about our trip, but thought you might enjoy seeing some of the scenery we enjoyed while you wait for our report.

Enjoy!!!

We really enjoyed sharing just a bit of the Kenya we experienced on our trip. More photos and reports of what we did will be coming soon!

“GOD REMEMBERED US”

Burning Plow’s Pastor Vincent lives near the Valentine Growers plantation near Nairobi. The plantation trades in long stemed roses, tea and coffee on a large scale.  Once a week, around 4:30 pm, Vincent meets with the guards before their shift beings.  The security guards hold a special place in his heart because he once worked as a guard himself.

Vincent brings a message from the Word and the guards share their prayer requests. This last week one man said:

“We have never had such opportunity to share the Word of God as part of our preparation to begin our work.  I never knew that someone could study the Word of God away from the church and the pastor. I now know it is possible!!!”

Please pray for the safety of this team of guards.  Some of them do not have a Bible and they need more discipleship. Pray also for Vincent as he seeks to reach out to those who need Jesus around him. We are so proud that he does this as his personal outreach.

We are privileged to work alongside Kenyans who are serving God!
